Gone But Not Forgotten

Special was truly special in many ways. Smoothie is his mother, and he was born in September, 1999, about two weeks after we figured out why Smoothie had a potbelly that refused to go away. Turns out she had been bred before we bought her. We never found out who his sire was. In 2007 Special ruptured his suspensory ligament and we were told he needed to be put down. Long story short, we refused to do that and 3 years later Special was back to barrel racing. He has qualified for both the NRCA Finals Rodeo and the SDRA Finals Rodeos and won money at the pro rodeos. Both kids have also Pee Wee barrel raced on him.

Special spent the last several years of his life with our dear friends the Mahers.  At the age of 19, he passed away from colitis.  He is greatly missed by all that knew him!

Pepper spent most of his life as a part of Riley’s family and in his later years taught Braden and Payton most of what they know about horses. He had a mind of his own but loved the kids. Pepper was put down at the ripe old age of 30 and he is greatly missed!

Unfortunately we lost Nickle to a clostridial infection in September, 2014, shortly after she carried Riley to a 3rd place finish in the Super Horse Challenge. She was both Riley’s and Braden’s favorite, and they used her for everything. She is greatly missed.
