We made it 5 years!

On May 24, 2007 I picked Riley up at the Lawrence County Jail and on May 25, 2007 we tied the knot… Since then our family has grown a little, our ranch has grown a little, and we have BIG plans for the next 50 years!

Below are just a few of our favorite pictures from the big day… we had such a good time we thought about doing it again this year just for fun, but we didn’t quite get organized. I guess now we’ll have to stick it out for another 5 years and have a big 10 year bash!

(You have to click on each picture if you want to see the whole thing.)

Eminem ~ Bay stud colt born May 23, 2012

It’s a boy!! Payton and I are sure glad we started doing our night checks last night because when we went out at 8:30 there was a new little body in the corral! This beautiful bay stud colt is by Irish Pay and out of Pavo Belle Play. He is a half sister to 2011 filly, “Sprinkle“.

Since it is a boy, Braden got to pick the name this time.  Unfortunately he is away on business right now but he had picked the name before the little guy arrived just in case…

We’re expecting twins!!

We are so super excited to announce that this beautiful boy…

High on Corona

and this lucky lady…

Especials Smoothie

are expecting twins! The twins are being carried by recipient mares, thanks to the awesome work of Dr. Margie Jones and Shelly Christensen at Northern Hills Vet Clinic!

We had tried transferring embryos out of Smoothie multiple times in the past, but with no luck, so had decided to let her carry her own baby this year… until she decided to grow twin follicles! Margie and Shelly do amazing work and we are so happy to have Smoothie and her babies in their hands!!

Violet ~ 2012 palomino filly

Saturday Terry and Laurie’s first filly of the year was born, and Payton and I went and visited her today.  What a sweetheart! After trying out many, many different options, Payton settled on Violet for her name (we threw out Princess Sparkles, Fordot, Super Zoom, Pinkity Purple, Gate Pusher, and Pretty Pink Rainbow to name a few).  Violet is by PC Sunder Frost (x Sun Frost) and out of Francys Frosty Lynx, who is a grand-daughter of Doc’s Lynx and Frenchman’s Sox. She was born May 12, 2012.  Violet’s older brothers and sisters have excelled in the barrel racing arena but have made excellent ranch and team roping horses as well.

Best Mother’s Day Yet!

Braden’s Kindergarten class hosted a Mother’s Day Tea this afternoon. At the tea, they sang songs, showed us around their classroom, fed us cookies and punch, showered us with gifts and read us books, including one each Kindergartener had written especially for their own mom.

We are so lucky that Braden gets to be part of such a great group of kids, and have such a wonderful teacher (Mrs. Odell).

Videos below!

And to all you other moms out there, Happy Mothers Day!
